Stainless Smile Dental Whitening System is a unique, easy to use, Patented, 30 Minute state of the art Dental Whitening System. What makes the Stainless Smile so unique? The healing power of Hyaluronic Acid which is captured by the Stainless Smile formula to provide a more comfortable treatment. It seals randomly the dentinal tubules and blocks oxygen radicals from stimulating the pain fibers that cause pain, thus eliminating sensitivity.

Hyaluronic Acid (Sodium Hyaluronate) is a highly polymerised mucopolysaccharide naturally found in the space surrounding all cells of the human body, with the highest concentrations found in the soft connective tissue, such as the skin and cartilage. It plays an important role in maintaining and regulating the water balance of tissues and facilitating the transport of nutrients and waste. It is also well known for its ability to stimulate the production of healthy new tissue in half the time, by increasing the blood supply and reducing inflammation. It is often used in Orthopedics, Ophthalmology, and the Cosmetic Industry because of its excellent property of moisturization to give lubricity to the human skin, utilizing water absorption and water holding properties. Hyaluronic acid has been used for years by doctors to boost the re-growth of connective tissue throughout the body, including the treatment of gingivitis. Hyaluronic acid is non-toxic, non-allergenic and non-irritating.

Stainless Smile has a desensitizing mechanism that works with Hyaluronic Acid that seals the tubules -

During the whitening process, oxygen radicals are released which enter the pulp chamber through the open dentinal tubules, irritating the nerve endings, known as the pain fibers, thus causing sensitivity. The mechanism of Hyaluronic Acid within the Stainless Smile formula involves hydrogen bond formation between water molecules and carboxyl and N-acetyl groups, resulting in a stiff biopolymer which ionically bonds to dentine, thus sealing the tubules randomly and preventing oxygen radicals from entering the pulpal chamber via the tubules. The ionic reaction involves the ionized carboxyl group bonding to booth collagen and inorganic dentine in the same way as modern dentine adhesives and glass ionomers.

Stainless Smile In-Office Dental Whitening System is presented in a three patient kit 38% Hydrogen Peroxide mixed with thickeners, activators and desensitizers, designed to optimize the whitening process. The peroxide and activators form a smooth medium viscosity red gel with light and heat absorbing properties that increase temperature and rate of peroxide activation. This whitening system may be used with a standard curing light, heat source or any other light designed for dental whitening applications. With the Stainless Smile In-Office and Take Home Systems, during the whitening process teeth maintain their natural lustre as it is gentle and it contains no etchants in its formulations.

A Stainless Smile Take Home Tooth Whitening Kit is recommended to enhance and maintain the whitening results of the In-Office System. Take Home Day Kits are available in 7.5% and 9.5% Hydrogen Peroxide, Take Home Night Kits are available in 10%, 16% and 22% Carbamide Peroxide.

A unique gentle formula without etchants that erode teeth, it simply oxidizes the coloured molecules into colourless ones, thus whitening the teeth. During the whitening process active ingredients such as Hyaluronic Acid, Potassium Nitrate and Sodium Fluoride, desensitize by randomly sealing the tubules of dentine, minimizing the risk of peroxides entering the pulpal chamber and stimulating the pain fibers that cause pain.

The application procedure involves wearing the custom made trays half an hour twice a day for up to 14 days uninterrupted. Results are evident from the very first application for all concentrations. Care should be taken not to overfill the tray as the gel may overflow into the gingival crevice which is a short path to the tooth pulp. Trays should be trimmed about 1mm away from the gum line and spacer resin is strongly recommended for reservoir formation.

The application procedure is the same for all concentrations, the Dentist chooses the concentration most suitable to the patient. At the completion of treatment all concentrations achieve the same results. The higher concentrations simply achieve faster results. The Carbamide Peroxide changes to Hydrogen Peroxide and Urea making it slower acting during the whitening process. About one third of the Carbamide Peroxide changes to Hydrogen Peroxide, the other two thirds are Urea which is inert.

The Stainless Smile Desensitizer Gel is designed for patients with sensitive teeth.

Hypersensitive patients should wear their customized tray with the Stainless Smile Desensitizer Gel

for one minute before and/or after the procedure as this would tend to minimize any sensitivity.

It works by sealing the dentinal tubules randomly.

The Stainless Smile Desensitizer Gel is also beneficial for people who have sensitive teeth.

It can be applied topically as often as it is necessary, or to pre-formed/customized EVA Trays and wear for one minute.
